Damage Cover

Every member who follows the rules is covered by our insurance whilst driving with Bay Islands Car Share. Please see the highlights below:

• Comprehensive collision coverage

• Third party property damage coverage

• Unlimited coverage for third party bodily injury

• Members are responsible for a $3000 insurance excess damage fee per incident.

• This can be reduced to $500 with the optional collision damage waiver (CDW) available for $2/hr or $15/day at the time of booking.

• Higher risk drivers are responsible for an additional excess

 

Only active members can drive with Bay Islands Car Share. If you’ve got a fellow member along for the ride, it’s fine to share driving time.

 

Non-members are not permitted to drive. Even if it’s just to park the vehicle, people who are not active members with Bay Islands Car Share are not insured to drive. If you allow a non-member to drive during your reservation (including valets), your membership will be cancelled.
